About

About Me

I'm Cassandra (she/her) and I'm a clinical social worker licensed in New York and Massachusetts. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at The New School in 2011 and my Master of Social Work Degree from NYU in 2013. I am currently pursuing post-graduate clinical training in Psychoanalysis at the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies.

I have over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist and have worked in a variety of settings in NYC, including community mental health and inpatient psychiatric social work. I  have extensive experience providing therapy to individuals working through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, OCD, relationship dynamics, substance use, and life transitions.

I believe in taking a holistic approach to understanding each person. I see therapy as an empowering process of accepting who you are and creating a fufilling life based on your values.

I am passionate about using a humanistic and person-centered approach. I am a trauma-informed, social justice oriented, and LGBTQIA+ affirming provider.

My Specialities Include

Anxiety & OCD

Anxiety is a normal part of our human experience, but frequent or intense anxiety can be overwhelming. Do you have difficulty being present and struggle with self-critical or repetitive, intrusive thoughts? Anxiety can often present as obssesive worry, feelings of dread and apprehension, panic attacks, negative self-thoughts, and avoidiance of situations that trigger fear.

Depression

Although depression is experienced uniquely by each person, it can often manifest as feelings of persistent sadness and hopelessness. You may feel stuck or disconnected from youself. Talking with a therapist can help you navigate challenges and create a fufilling life true to who you are.

Trauma

Trauma affects individuals differently, often impacting their relationships and overall well-being. Process past experiences in a warm, compassionate space at your own pace.

Life Transitions

Life transitions, whether expected or unexpected, can bring up many feelings including uncertainty, excitement, overwhelm, and grief. Therapy offers a supportive space to navigate change, such as career shifts, relationship changes, or personal growth. Talking about our experience helps us to better understand our feelings, gain clarity, and build resilience.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy provides a supportive environment to resolve conflict, improve communication, and build trust. Space is provided for each person to express themselves and feel heard. Forgiveness and expressing care towards one another helps create a deeper connection.

Psychodynamic Therapy

As a therapist specializing in psychodynamic therapy, I provide a warm and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and past experiences openly to gain a deeper understanding of your inner world. Speaking freely in therapy fosters an environment where new thoughts can emerge, leading to transformative change and personal growth.
